Window Question

I have a 2000 CLK430. I noticed on a 2001 CLK430 that the window rolls down a little when the door is open, and goes up a little when the door is closed (so it's easier to close with all the air pressure that builds up inside the cabin.)

My question is:
- do you 2001+ CLK owners have this feature? I know a lot of BMWs do. Just trying to figure if it's a 2001+ thing.
- do you 2000 and earlier CLK owners NOT have this feature? Maybe I have a motor burnt or something?

Or did this person have some kind of motors installed specially into the car?

TIA,

01 CLK430
I have a 2001 430 and my driver side doesn't slightly open and close when the door is open/closed. I've tried reseting the windows according to others on this group.

I'm planning to take into the dealer this week to get it fixed.

Also, does your express up hit the top of the door and then open about 2-3 inches? And does your window roll up/down very slowly?

It is a 2001 model feature and after.

It was not available to pre 2001 model i.e 2000,1999,1998 models. I have a 2000, and investigated this.

The windows of my 2002 CLK430 rolls down a little when the door opens/closes.

For the express down/up, my windows close all the way up. No problems at all.

This is a common problem and it can be fixed one of two ways, one is the have the window reprogrammed via the dealers lap top two is to have the window motor replaced with a newer model that corrects this defect. The only problem with the latter is the door panel needs to be removed and the plastic weather proofing linning can be damaged...try the reprogram first it should last for at least a few months+/-.
