New to w208s with a problem

Hi all,

I recently purchased a 01 CLK320 off a good friend. The car is currently on Brabus Multi piece mono block V. Specs are unknown at this time, but I think it is 8.5F and 9.5R. There is a major issue with the car because the front is 1/2 tire tuck with no fender roll. The steering wheel will only turn 45 degrees before there is rubbing. Both sides have been damaged and is looking pretty bad for the tires so I really need a referral to somewhere that can roll fenders. I am located in the 626 area of Los Angeles. I also plan on changing out the spring pads to raise the car up a little (even though I really enjoy the look of a SLAMMED car). Please help if possible. Pictures will follow after the rain stops in Southern California. Thanks!

BTW, I had a w203 which I sold about a year ago. check it out here.

As stated before, I'm not very active so I apologize in advance if I'm slow at responding to anything... CHEERS!

LOL, No love to the new guy w/o pics eh?...

Ok, finally got around to taking some pictures. I ended up going to D2 Techniks in Alhambra to get the fenders rolled. Nice guys, fair price. Please note that the paint on the fenders were cracking already, I guess rolling them made it worse. Atleast I can turn now, well... more than before. I still get rubbing here and there.

Im going to change the spring pads next so give the car alittle lift. Its at #2 front and #3 rear. I was thinking of going to #4 front and #5 rear. Repainting the fenders will come after I get a good setup going.

Damn...that looks pretty bad, I'm not a expert on fender rolling or any of that yet, but the man that may help you on this is CLKFAN hopefully he'll see this thread if not I'll hit him up, most likely you need ALOT of fender rolling from what I see up front, that's where the problem mostly is. It's painful looking at those pics...

Custom CLK / 05 E500 4matic / 04 Acura TL <<Daily
Just roll the fenders and leave the drop as is.

You have 2 options...

Your tires are way to boxy to have your car that slammed...you need to get some 225/35/19 or 215/35/19 tires with a rounded sidewall to avoid this problem completely

The other one is to roll your fenders. If you're in LA I can refer you to Droptop208 and he can tell you where to go to get this done because the place I had mine done at is gone now here in Glendale..

But I would also suggest buying 225/35/19 tires to avoid this as well as the fender rolling. I had the same problem a long time ago because my car was to slammed with bulky sidewall tires like yours.

Correction...I just read your post about you getting your fenders rolled already...but you still need to get some different tires so that you get better clearance...I would suggest a 225/35/19 if you are to scared to run 215/35/19. But you seem pretty daring to do it because I can tell your coils were cut on your suspension because there are not springs on the market that lower a CLK that low...I know because I've had my springs cut before also.

thanks for the suggestion, I think the 225 round walls will be very possible in the future...

After looking at the car again today, I think the following will be next on the list...

-black stock grill to complement the black housing headlights...
-flat emblem
-maybe some spacers to push the wheels out a bit more, they look too far in...
-replace reflective tint with dark black tint (20% all around)
-delete chrome surrounding windows

I have Authentic Brabus 20mm Hubcentric spacers if you want to buy them from me...I used to run them when I had my Brabus wheels because they just were not aggressive enough.

No... just 2 for the rear. I don't think you would want to add any spacers up front...you would start the rubbing all over again.
