Hids4less
Hey guys,
Need some input here. On my 02' CLK320, i want to install a HID system. Has anyone purchased the Stage 1 or 2 Kit from http://www.hids4less.com From reading about their xenon kit, it's looks great. Stage 1 is 4300K and Stage 2 is 6000k. Very bright lights.
OEM kit from MB is priced around $1500.00, but, I want to know should I go w/ HIDS4LESS or with the factory xenon kit. Any issues w/ aftermarket kits, or problems i may encounter w/ factory settings??
Thoughts and pics would be great. Thanks,
DJ AMER

my thoughts, the hid4less stage 2 is real nice. i know some people with it, and its quite bright. Its not a bad price. I think Bruce might have this kit, not sure though.
I plan on upgrading to the Stage 2 HID kit too. OEM Xenon just isn't very bright, and its not very 'white' either. The Stage 2 is much whiter- w/ a hint of blue

What I am sure about HID system is that 6000K (stage 2) is obviously LOOK* brighter than 4300K (stage 1). 6000K is more bluer than white, when 4300K~~5300K are more white rather than bluer.
Go for 4300K~~5300K. You do not want to go over that range for CLK. 6000K or even 7000K seems brighter when you look your headlight outside of your car, but not inside of your car. 4300K~~5300K is much brighter in reality when you are actually driving your vehicle.
If you are going for the look ONLY, then go for 6000K. But I wouldn't put it on my car. In addition to that, 6000K loses the light as time goes, which means, it gets deemer. Ask other professionalists, they will all say samething.

question...
so if we already have the OEM HID's.. we only need to change the HID bulbs correct?? I would figure it just uses the same balast in there. Please correct me if i'm wrong.

i think you should go with 4300k~5000K
at the shop i tune my car there is a few car with 6000k they all change back to 5000k or stock HID bulb. They all think the colour is cool but you won't see too far

4300k is what mercedes uses as oem, yes?
now, I understand 4300-5300 is white
6000 is blue, 7000 is blue/purple.
someone posted earlier that the newer mercedes were using something different other then 4300? if you know, which is it?
also which is brighter, 4300k or 5300k?

doesnt look that bad.
actually i dont see any purple in there at all heh.
thats strange, did your lights fully light up in those pics?
compared to lowryders 6000k kit, you two have the same color almost, but his car lights up brighter.

yes your car is hot
I got a chance to drive a 2000 clk cabrio when my c230 was in for B service. pretty nice, just wish I could afford it. Anyone think the new clks dont look as good as the old w208? I just have a personal distaste for those mushed together lights thats found on the new c, clk, and sl; looks chrysler-ish. :o
