Telephone Nokia 3110

Telephone Nokia 3110
I´m have some problems with my telephone. I have a Nokia 3110 in the armrest between the front seats. It have been working perfect until recently.
Ordenary in the phonemenu(dashboard) it shows the providers name and strength of the signal. For ex:

TELIA
Strenght nine. This is how it looks when everything is ok.
This is how it looks and works now :
RS9

An R before the strength and nothing is working. You cant call or recive phoncalls via handsfree att all. Even if u remove your phone completly it shows the same thing. The telephone menu is frozen. You can toggle between the other menus like before.
What is the problem ?? What does the "R" before the strengthsymbol stands for ??

Do you have signal strength on the dashboard or COMAND
In my COMAND manual it states that the R means it is roaming.
Reset the setting on your phone, (Look in settings menu), but backup your numbers (if applicable)
I would check with your service provider for fault even ask for new sim card,
Or upgrade the whole phone kit for a newer version, thats what I did, I didn't like the 3110, and changed it to 6210 earlier this year and just changed it again to 6310i 2 weeks ago. (Though this is a bit drastic in your case at the moment)

please help with 3110 replacement

Sorry to bring this back!
I just purchased my 2000 S500 that has an MB supplied Nokia 3110 phone which is very old.
Can anyone tell me:
1- If I could use any other newer phone with currunt kit
2- How to upgrade to the latest phone from Nokia and how much will it cost.
