HELP - CLK230 Boot won't open
Hi I have a problem with my 1999 CLK 230 - the boot (trunk) won't open from the remote control or the switch in the car - the LED on the switch is on which I think means it thinks the boot is open. I think this might be due to a blown fuse in the boot but I can't get the boot open to check
I tried the boot lock with all 3 keys, but it won't unlock - the key turns (with a bit of force) through 180 degrees - I thought it should only turn a little bit so probably a broken lock.
Does anyone know of any other method of opening the boot? I thought there might be some way to get into it through the rear folding seats, but the release handles for these are in the boot.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

dirty hack
hey there
had a similar problemwith my e210 boot would not open using keys and the lock had seized.
remove number plate and cut a slot one inch tall 5 inches wide into boot
you should then be able to manually operate the lock.
messy i know but effective.
If anyone knows the details on the boot locking circut diagram could they post it here for us folks who need to fault find.
