CD Changer Stuck On Stupid
This morning I went to take out my CD cartridge and the damn thing wouldn't come out. I press the eject button and it makes a working noise but it won't come out. And when I try to turn my stereo to CD mode it displays that there is no CD case in the system.
Any info on the subject would be nice. Thanks. |
I had this happen to mine. The problem with mine was there was a cd tray that didn't fully return to the cartridge. It was jammed in between the changer and the cartridge. Once taken apart, u can see that one of the cd trays from the cartridge was in the open position (half way in the changer).
I took the changer out of the trunk and took it apart. Using a sharp tool and a lot of force, I pushed the tray back into the cartridge and when I plugged it back in the cartridge ejected normally. If I remember correctly, I think a cd was still in the changer when I reloaded the cartridge causing a jam due to the extra cd. Maybe not... its been a few years. |
In the past I've disconnected the cable and two bolts that hold the changer in place. Then I removed the entire changer, and removed the CDs.
However, that's the hard way. I've since discovered simply tapping the unit with my finger shakes it enough to release the CDs. |
Thanks for the info guys. I'll make some time this week to handle it.

2002 C230- CD Changer jammed (MS3010)
I have the same problem with the MS3010 model.
After taking it apart and recovering the CD's I plug it back and try it again. Same message. If I press the CD cartridge button I hear a noise but the cartridge is not ejected. The 2 red lights are ON under the optical connection and the radio works. I have unplug and plug back the radio fuse also but and I am receiving the same messages: - 1) CD3 track no 5 - 2) 3 seconds later: NO CD CHANGER On some forums they recommend to take the radio out and reset the optical connection. Can somebody help with other suggestions or with a procedure to take the radio out? Thank you |
my changer had similar problems.
i lubricated all moving parts after i took the shell of the changer to remove the cartridge. since then, it worked 99% of the time. |
hey sam, have you put in any burned/copied cds? this happened to me a while back and i was told that it has something to do with the thickness of a copied disc being thicker than a regular disc and thats what can cause the jamming. The guy told me that after i get it fixed, to not use copied cd's or if i did, not to fill up the whole cd thing. hope that helps you a little bit after you get the disc changer out

I'm really late to this party but I just tried today and it worked! I was a little surprised, TBH. Previous owner had two home-burned CDs in the cassette which were likely the culprits.
I heard the sound system quality today for the first time listening to CDs and I was really impressed. Been a long time since I had a good German car stereo. Very happy with the results. |
