CD Changer Stuck On Stupid
Any info on the subject would be nice. Thanks.
I took the changer out of the trunk and took it apart. Using a sharp tool and a lot of force, I pushed the tray back into the cartridge and when I plugged it back in the cartridge ejected normally. If I remember correctly, I think a cd was still in the changer when I reloaded the cartridge causing a jam due to the extra cd. Maybe not... its been a few years.
However, that's the hard way. I've since discovered simply tapping the unit with my finger shakes it enough to release the CDs.
After taking it apart and recovering the CD's I plug it back and try it again.
Same message.
If I press the CD cartridge button I hear a noise but the cartridge is not ejected.
The 2 red lights are ON under the optical connection and the radio works.
I have unplug and plug back the radio fuse also but and I am receiving the same messages:
- 1) CD3 track no 5
- 2) 3 seconds later: NO CD CHANGER
On some forums they recommend to take the radio out and reset the optical connection.
Can somebody help with other suggestions or with a procedure to take the radio out?
Thank you

I heard the sound system quality today for the first time listening to CDs and I was really impressed. Been a long time since I had a good German car stereo. Very happy with the results.
