lights n stuff.

okay, so my fog light just went out and i was stuck in traffic so I pulled into a schucks and bought a fog light. which bulbs are in your guys cars?? just wanted to make sure i got the right one.

also, looking at all your nice mod'd cars are making me jealous, so i just bought some clear side markers from ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/98-03...QQcmdZViewItem
i hope this seller is a good one. they were only $50 bucks anyway. i'm gonna have to check the threads on how to put the thing on...

and you guys said that my i couldn't make my inner headlight match the actual bigger headlight right? (what is the damn technical terms for the two circle headlights... headlight and city light? i dunnoooo.. )
anyways... hmm.. what is the best way to get all the FOUR (two circle lights, fog light, and side marker) lights to match with each other? the clear side markers said it comes with a lightbulb.. but it says its a "chrome" lightbulb? wth is that?

what else should i do to my car minus, any kits, lowering, wheel stuff (because i won't be able to drive it or take care of it?)

when i washed the car last i noticed i had a lot of rock chips up front, i should have done the clear bra thing or something when i first bought the car.. i'm thinking of getting it detailed.... does that help? like a good buff and wax ???

i'm such a bad owner. gosh.. i don't deserve to drive a clk.
its not my fault i don't have a bf to do everything for me anymore.

A good detail does wonders. As far as the clear corners go, I would have blacked them out to match your car. Some simple mods I would do (since lowering and wheels are out of the question) are illuminated door sills, flat emblem, door pins, shiftgate frame, and other interior accents.

Mods to stay away from are ANY chrome around any of the lights or anywhere else!

Well I cant help you regarding your foglights but I here is some insight on your other issues...

-You should be fine with what you bought on ebay. I too bought the same from a different seller. Turned out fine and looks great. I think the bulbs that came out were pretty clear already, however I used the "chrome" ones, they glow orange as well which is what I wanted. Take a small flathead screwdriver, wrap a thin cloth around it, wedge it in between the body and light cover and it should pop right out, bulbs twists out easily.

- The inner lights can sometimes be called running lights. There are tons of info on this. The W210 owners have the same problem. You can match the Xenons with a new bulb with resistors. I tried some cheap ebay ones...they suck. I went back to stock and decided to live with the duller ones..

- The clear bra has lost a bit of its "aura". Alot of exotic owners are straying away from it for various reasons, although some still swear by it. If you are already chipped up, best choice might be to respray the front end. A good
3m clear bra could cost just as much.

- IMHO get some chrome headlight rings and a flat hood badge. The rings compliment the grill so much and add alot. I saw a newer E-Class with the chrome rings on the lights and that sold me on this...also visit formymercedes.com- its a great site with quality stuff.

- Youre not a bad owner at all I had similar questions when I first got mine, and learned alot fast, and still learning..just wish I had more $$ to do what I really want...

good luck..

If your car is black you might look into these smoked side markers http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...221792700&rd=1 I need a set of the clear ones so if you want I can order the smoked ones and trade you (I'm local).

For headlights (high and low) I bought these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MEWN:IT&ih=009 Just double the order when you check out on their website and they don't charge more shipping and I think the bulbs were $2 each at checkout. They are very clear white with a tiny bit of blue tint and work great.

For the clearance/running lights in the middle I got these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MEWN:IT&ih=011 They match the low beam bulbs for color though they are not as bright being that they are just a running light.

You should get the flat hood emblem. Wilsonville Mercedes had them in stock for $21. Let me know if you want one and I can get you the part number.

For detailing check out Ace Car Reconditioning in Beaverton http://www.acecars.net/paint.htm I know the owner and he does excellent work and has done many of my customers' vehicles. They are pretty good on pricing too.

If you have HIDs already there is no need to change the bulbs in your headlights. I still have not changed the bulbs in my foglights yet. I will do it soon. If you decide to get the black/smoked corner lights let me know and I'll order them and we can meet up and trade when they come in. Just PM me or something.

The smaller duller headlights that also contain the high beam bulbs are called the parking lights. Definitely check the W210 forum for info. I'm in the process of looking for new bulbs also. I'll post my results when i find something i like.

I have the Xenon Blue that Boosted linked to, they are close but still not the same color as the OEM HID color. Of course, they are WAY better than the yellowish the OEM bulbs put out.
