I experience something similar caused by a faulty Crank Position Sensor (CPS). Search on posts by pigman and you'll see some helpful posts by others about it.

I don't think it's the CPS.

When the car is cold, it easily starts up and will run normally till the car is very warm.

When it's warm, it'll be hard to start the car, and when you turn the key to start it, it sounds like car is about to start, but it's not getting that "push" to fire it up.

I agree with Jessica90....the CPS causes the engine to shut off when its wamred up and will not allow it to restart till its cool again. This seems like a tuneup issue.

Have you done a tuneup yet? Plugs, cables, filters???

CPS... It happened to me last year. Would start up cold, no problem. After about 10 minutes would shut-off. Then would'nt start right away (for a few minutes). I would turn the key and the starter would just turn and turn, but the engine would not fire-up. Changed the CPS myself... worked great after that.

I don't think there's enough information provided from hiandy08.

Does your car start up normally when cold?
