So it happened to me (crash story)
Well technically it happened to my girlfriend. She was driving my CLK back from the hospital this morning and she got rear-ended. It had rained a ton the night before so the roads were bad. There was a bad accident in front of her and everyone came to a stop…. Except for the person behind…. It was a Ford Ranger that did not fair to well.
I have some large scuffs on the bumper, but nothing cracked or indented. It did pop off the lower rivet the held the back bumper on passenger side… The top was fine… Her bumper was smashed upwards into her engine… My GF says that her bumper was about 2 inches away from her front tire….
All are safe, just a little sore from the impact and the seat belt tensioner.
I have to say I am really impressed by how well the bumper held up…. If I had my Acura it would have been gone. That car was like a beer can being smashed on a frat boys forehead. The build quality and safety are impressive! Once again the CLK is a great car to have!
