SprintBooster question

Sorry all if I am so back date on this issue.

Have anyone in here have done sprintbooster on 98/99 CLK? I heard it really works from C32 forum. So I am wonder how it works on ours?

Thanks,

Thanks!

Do you know if it also works on older models? Also do you see improvement in 0-60 mph? In theory it should since you pickup the torque right away.

Thanks again for the input

From what others said on my other MB forums, they mentioned...

- it basically tricks the car's computer into thinking that you're pressing the gas pedal harder than you really are, therefore the car's acceleration will react a lot faster

- with that said... the computer will also think that you're at a higher RPM, therefore lower MPG

- Faster quarter miles? 0-60? top speed? Everyone had the same answer... "no"

in my personal opinion, i kind of would like to agree with what some people say... "its like a placebo effect" LoL.

I am not saying you are wrong but I just don't understand. Theoretically, if you get a better response, you gotta get some better tenth in 0-60mph. Logically, since you don't have to wait for a delay then bam, you should gain some time since your car responses quicker????. I am not talking about a second, I am talking may be 1 or 2 tenths?

Just don't understand why people get the same.

Trust me bro. about a month ago, i was in the same position you were. I was really thinking about getting one for my CLK too. but for some reason, not one person ever said anything different than... "you won't get faster times/runs"

and then one of the dudes with the CLK AMG mentioned.... it's barely noticeable unless you're driving like 40 to 60 mph, and you decide to pass up another car, then you'll BARELY notice it. i guess everyones just trying to say that the throttle response is just a split second faster. nothing major though.

isn't kind of disappointing to hear/read when you're actually planning to buy one? i know i was really disappointed. i thought it'd make my car a lot faster. LoL. i ended up not getting one.

That is true though. You definitely will not be able to feel it if you are running at 80 mph, but I suspect you feel a bit different at a stop start or just like you said the AMG guy did committed it affected when he tried to pass someone at 40-60mph.

Seriously, talking about tenth improvement, you just can't feel it. You have to have some types of measurement (not feel) to prove. And seriously, I do not expect a whole lot coming out from 250 bucks

Thanks for you input babyboigsxr

So what you are saying is you will take it off when you have your sc installed right? So what you are thinking is it will not work or work well with a supercharged car? But from what I read in C32 forum, many of them have it installed and claim having a good experience/feeling with it.
