Upgrading Tires
Other than that - Normally people have 8.5 wide in the front to anywhere from 9 to 10 wide in the rear.
I have 19x8 and 19x9.5 front/rear respectively with no issue at all.
I think he is not talking about a new set with new offset etc. He is talking about his current original 17" set.

The answer is easy if you spend half an hour Alirossa. Jack up your car and move the rear to the front and front to rear. Test drive your car, you have the answer

I personally, don't think you have any problem with going straight but when you do a hard turn like u-turn you may rub the inner of the front wheel (just my guess)

I don't think you want to do that. first of all, if you stick to the same 17-inch AMG wheels, your tires are stick out big time. as in... at least half an inch on both sides of the rims, that's not a good thing.
so in other words, you could, but trust me, it's definitely not nice.
