Check out this comical price emailed to me from RENNtech....

So I emailed RENNtech to inquire about a simple lowering springs installation on my CLK430. Repeat, this is for lowering springs and installation. I figured I lived by them so I would see. Here is the response.....

Thank you for the inquiry Leandro

We are also a little backed up, I’ll have to order the Lowering Springs

We can schedule the car in about 2 weeks, and we need the car here

about 2 days.

Springs $ 525, plus 6 hours install $ 840, plus tax $ 88.72 ($ 1453.72)

Regards

George

So I bought H&R springs (H&R or Eibach are probably the manufacturer for RENNtech) for $239, and I made an appointment at a respected Japanese import tuner shop in the area for a quote of $200 for the install, and they do it same day while you wait (I dont need to leave my car there for two days like RENNtech).

So what you guys think? Should I go RENNtech and pay $1,453.72 and let them hold my car for two days, or should I go to Japtrix and have my $239 H&R springs installed for $200 while I wait? Haha. I have no idea how RENNtech stays in business.

EDIT - I just cant stop laughing at a 6 hour install according to RENNtech. If a shop takes over an hour and fifteen minutes, they are retarded. My last three cars have been lowered and never took more than hour and half. Did you guys know RENNtch hot-rods go-karts now? How ghey. Screw RENNtech.

Fuken ridiculous,

I tried asking about the wide body kit they have for my car and they told me $20K just for parts. This was 4 years ago.

no need to pay htat much. However, $200 is cheap for spring install. that's a great quote.

Any AMG Thats Around..
they go by book time.... which i believe is around 1hr a corner.... If you call an MB dealership and ask how much to R/R a spring, they should say 1-1.5hr... thats where that price comes from...

its all relative to the labor rates... 4hrs $50 a hour is $200.. lol.. you paid $200 for 1 hour.. that would make them more expensive, but just faster...
