CLK55 asthmatic, lacks power when accelerating
2001 car, recently serviced. Normally, putting my foot down at say 60MPH,
results in a massive surge of acceleration, with a hearty shove in the back.
Yesterday I went to pick someone up from the airport, and when I kickdown at
such speed, it is noticeably less powerful, and stranger still, it revs up to
the red line, but then doesn't change up to the next gear.
What can I look at here? There are no warnings on the dash.

Try a ECU reset. I am guessing you do not often have passengers and/or languages and suddenly you have a heavy load, the driving manner will be different. The computer may still have been thinking the old way or confused what to do. Don't quote me on this haha
It may be the MAF, I am assuming you have good spark plugs, air filter etc since you just had a recent service.
