Readjusting Xenon Lights after Lowering Car

Have any of you readjusted there Xenons after lowering their car? Is this something only the dealer can do or can we do it ourselves manually? Thanks in advance.

If you have OEM HID headlights, then they will adjust themselves after you lower the car. If you change the rake of the car (by adjusting only front or rear height) then they will adjust for this as well.

I don't know if it was always this way, since I lowered the car 3 days after I bought it, but I noticed a lot of glare from my driver's side light- it seemed to be aimed too high. My friends used to complain about the 'flashing' from the light hitting their mirror if I drove behind them at night.

Anyone else have this problem?

maybe your self leveling arm became disconnected during the lowering process? Look for a pencil thin arm as a part of the passenger rear suspension assembly (you'll most likely have to remove the wheel. If anything dangles, reattach it.

I know scorchie knows what I'm talking about

As Larry said, it could be because something is wrong with your self-leveling (there's also a similar sensor on the front too).

But, it could just be because you have much stiffer springs now, and they cause your front to bump up more than before. I noticed that the cutoffs on my cars do bounce pretty high.

99CLK320,
Old post revival

This is an oldy. I am not aware that my 99/320 has self adjusting headlights as mentioned earlier on this thread. Is this something that is on all models of the 208?

Do you have factory installed Xenons? If so, yes. All factory cars with Xenons have to adjust due to ride height changes (bumps, dips, etc).
