Telephone question
I have searched almost every thread, and I'm still confused about does the car have a phone system or not. i know i need a cradle with bluetooth adapter and that my car equiped with db2 sytem. Now how do you find out what type of cradle you need? all i need is be able to make a call and receive call using my bluetooth enabled smartphone.
everytime i push the tel button tell me not present. I would appreciate any good info, Ijust dont want to go to the dealership to do this and spend more than i could afford.
any help would be appreciated, also the closest benz dealership for me is about two hours from here.

I was told by MB dealer that my car could not be upgraded to bluetooth and I can not upgrade to digital unless i find the parts, they stated they would call me back it's been about three weeks. I guess i give up trying

Ok, if you have a early model 2000-2001, with a factory installed StarTac, you will need to swap out the cradle to a V60 cradle. Most likely, you will also need to swap out the PSE to a blue label auto sensing PSE (do a search on this). At this point, you can install the MB V60 bluetooth puck and use your bluetooth phone through the factory phone system in the car.
If you don't have a phone in your car, then its a bit more complicated, you would still need the same components, but there might be DB2 fiber that is needed and of course programmming via the Star Diagnostics. I can't help you much here, but there are plenty of topics on it that you can search for.
