Shifter wont move from drive! HELP
Hi I have a 2001 ckl430 and my child spilt his juice on the on the center counsel, basically into the shifter assembly. Now the gear selector wont come out of drive. I cant start the car because of it, but I disengaged the shift lock so i could take the key out... Does anyone know how to fix this or had a diy on how to take the center counsel apart.

ouch. There is an over ride release in the shifter. Youll need and small flat head screw driver.The overrideswitch is located in the shifter just under the "D" (looks lie a trap door). Also, you may have fried the module that is located under the console just above the brake pedal. Check to see if your brake light work, this would be an indication of the stop lamp module being bad.
