ENGINE OIL SENSOR LIGHT APPEARS????
Hey guys sorry I just purchased my benz about 2 months ago and decided to change my oil. I used the top sider, changed the filter making sure only 1 line was visible. poured 8 quarts of 0w40. And all of a sudden the panel says "CHECK ENGINE OIL SENSOR, BRING TO WORK SHOP IMMEDIATELY" what does this mean?? please tell this rookie what this means.

Check Engine Oil message
Your oil level sensor is probably malfunctioning.
Mine did this a couple of times after the first year I had the car - it would turn up at occasions and oil leve and pressure were normal.
They go bad. You'll sometimes get the message "Perform engine service at once" as well.
The later cars (post 2000?) had oil quality sensors that could go bad too.

My sensor is giving this error too.
Im waiting for my next service date to get it replaced. I just check my oil the real way every now and then.
