My pic

After following this group for the last two months, and not being able to decide between the W208 or W209 models, I finally had an opportunity to pick up the car I wanted, in the colour I wanted.

Ladies and Gents, I present my pride and joy (a car that I traded my '99 Civic for...)

I look forward to the day when I can add a few things here and there.

Lee.

more pics

I've been so excited, I offered to drop my wife off of work and pick her up! Making any excuse to go out and drive. And of course, this gave me another photo op. So here's couple more.

Well for now, I am just happy to be outta my 1.6L 4 cyl. Civic!! My Civic did well though, kept me goin' thru school with low cost maintenance.

I've probably had perma-grin for the past few days. I love this car, and I kiss it every morning before work....(in privacy of my garage of course...)

As for additions, the first ones on my list are the cd changer, (didn't come with it, and I didn't feel like $995 was a fair price for a changer) and maybe navigation.

I would like to get bigger wheels than the stock 16" I have currently....of course, with all the pics I'm seeing of your cars, I figured I'd get some inspiration!

Thanks everyone for their kind words. This is the 1st MB in my family line!

And to think that I almost bought a Lexus GS430....ppffftttt.....

THE CAR LOOKS GREAT !!! I JUST GOT MY 209 CLK 320 BLACK OPAL ASH INTERIOR ABOUT THREE WEEKS AGO AND LOVE THE CAR. I HAD A HARD TIME PICKING WHICH MODEL I WANTED TO GET AND WENT WITH THE 209. JUST WONDERING HOW MUCH DID YOU PAY FOR THE CAR? IT SOUNDS LIKE THAT YOU ARE VERY HAPPY. WONDERING WHY YOU DIDN'T GO FOR THE NEW STYLE? I PLAN TO POST PICS BUT WEATHER HAS BEEN TO CLOUDY. LIKE TO SEE THE CARS SIDE BY SIDE TO COMPARE. CONGRATS!!!

Great choice, Personaly i believe the 208 is better looking than the 209 anywyas.

CD changer for $995 is crazy!!!! I believe you can use a Alpine changer with the stock radio. Alpine only cost around $250.

Have fun!

You can use an Alpine changer to work with the W208? hmm.. I might have to find out about it.

Britton:
The wait for the new clk was too long. I was gonna buy a pre-owned 430, but this one came up with the perfect colour combination. Bought it for $500 over invoice, around $43,000 so that helped the decision. I think the price was about $2300 off MSRP.

I would like to have the car tinted, but dunno if I dare.

I'll have to do a search online and figure what other people did.

I like the 209, but I love my 208, that's all...

I got mine tinted, not really a problem here in Los Angeles, don't know about other city/states...

Congrats on the car!

I didn't want to pay the dealer markup and luxury tax for the cd changer and found a local sound shop carrying the Mercedes unit...it is made by Alpine. The car's computer might have to be reprogrammed by the dealer, but its no big deal...takes a couple of minutes.

Check with Performance Products, one of the site sponsors and they have one for a little over $400.

SOUNDS LIKE YOU GOT A GOOD DEAL ON THE CAR. I HAD TO WAIT ABOUT 3 MONTHS FOR THE 2003 CLK 320 BUT IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT AND IT COST ABOUT 50,000.00 TOTAL. I THINK THE BLACK OPAL COLOR IS A GRAET COLOR GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR NEW CAR. STILL PLANNING TO POST PICKS AS SOON AS THE WEATHER WILL LET ME GET A GREAT PICTURE OF THE CAR.

LowRydeR: I know how you feel about L.A. First time I went to L.A. I expected a lot from the downtown area...(of course, I'm Cdn, so I figured all major cities have great action in downtown) ...stayed at the Otani Hotel. Well, the action wasn't downtown. In fact...driving to the hotel scared the ba-jezzus outta me. Rented a convertible Mustang....put up the top before venturing near the hotel. Now I KNOW not to go to downtown L.A.

Britton: I actually have seen your posts in the past few months. I'm glad you love your 209, it's a great lookin' car. If the car was more readily available, I might have jumped on it. Coming from a Civic, either models would've been great for me. I fit better in a 209 model, as I'm 6'2" with most of my height above my butt, but I also love the design of the 208. Believe it or not, I actually once confused the rear of an 03 Accord Coupe with the 209 CLK! I felt embarrassed, but I'm a dumbass with cars. I'm looking forward to seeing your pics!!!
