Jump start (simple question)
I have jumpstarted a couple of cars, never had any problem except for the fact that my cables are a bit short
As da_Guitarist mentioned, you will want to have you car started beforehand.

be aware that if the state of your battery is poor, jump starting may do more
harm than good. also, alternators were never designed to replenish a deeply
discharged battery. yes, you can get it started using another car/battery,
but as soon as you can, you should: 1) examine the fluid level, 2) check
specific gravity of the solution, 3) look for signs of sulfation, 4) trickle charge
at 1/10th of the rated amperage for several hours.
if you skip all this, you may end up paying a higher price....or, you can get
lucky (higher odds) because the battery was just a tad weak vs poor con-
dition and discharged.
