Has anyone been able to sell their CLK's in this economy?

I had mine listed for sale last year for $14k and received many emails but then I decided to keep it. I put it back up for sale for $9,750 and have not received one single email. Tee economy is bad, but have any of you sold your CLK's in like the last two months? If so, for how much???

I wouldn't sell it for a penny less than 9750 so I will probably just keep it. I got a new job with a 114 mile round trip commute and want a smaller engine car but I am not going to give mine away so I can save a few cents a week on gas....

2000 CLK 430
Your CLK doesnt have to be such a pig

Just leave early enough and cruise control the entire way there. I went 400+ miles on a tank on a highway trip from NYC to Foxwoods CT. So its possible to get good mileage if your disciplined enough.

400+ miles doin about 70-80 the entire way there also.

1999 CLK 320 Coupe
i just bought a 1999 CLK 320 for $11K from a dealer in CT with only 63,000 miles on it about 6 or 7 weeks ago. i don't commute and only use the car for trips out of NYC on weekends and the occasional jaunt around town. it was sold by a 71 year old lady who hardly drove it. i spent $1,800 at Bells Service in NJ to get it in perfect mechanical condition (i would recommend them, btw. great indie guys).

ironically, i bought the car, my first in 12 years of nyc living, when gas was at its historic high and i sure was psyched when gas prices plummeted! i'm getting 29-31 mpg on the highway using cruise control and driving 70-75 mph.

my sense was that people were having a hell of a time selling 430's and a not exactly easy time selling 320's when i picked up mine. i probably could've got it even cheaper but the used car dealer used high pressure tactics on me.

hi sfclk,
before i bought the car i took it for a test drive to a benz dealer and had them do the diagnostic check-up so i would know what i was in for. the dealer actually replaced all spark plugs and fluids. shocks were not changed.

after i bought it, the indie benz repair place (they only fix benz) resealed the rear differential at all three points (pinion seal was leaking severely), new drive belt/pulley, new stop lamp switch, new steering shocks, extra key, crankshaft position sensor (pre-emptive).... and there are a number of other things which i can't remember right now, including a couple other expensive items. i think the shift recognition switch might have been one of them.

assuming that's your car in your sig, let me ask you: my car is the '99, silver, 100% stock 320 with the non-AMG wheels and just the ridiculous black part underneath instead of the AMG side skirts/front/bumper. the "AMG look" is what always attracted me to the W208. to get my car to look like yours is it just a simple matter of buying the AMG bodykit and wheels somewhere (when i have the money) and having it installed? i'm a total NOOB in every way; not only new to benz, but new to even owning a car at all!

i'm not going to turn into a "modder" and don't want to do anything to the car that can't be undone. just want to know the easiest and cheapest way to get the car looking like the 430. i searched the forums and coudn't find a simple answer.

1999 CLK 320 Coupe
p.s. - i searched more and found this, but i don't understand why it appears that just these 4 parts would cost $4500:

http://www.performanceproducts4benz....281&pid=100729

what is the lowest cost way to do this? all it has to be is something that looks like that or similar and is easy to install or cheap to have someone install, and durable.

sorry to sound like a complete newbie on a forum filled with experts (especially extreme modders)!
