I have a 430clk cab coming in about a week. Lease is based on 70% residual for 12,000 miles and .00339 money factor. Don't have final price per month yet with tax and all. Will let you know when I do.

Money factor is outrageous, but residual is very high, so somewhat offsets it.

The money factory has nothing to do with the residual so you should be able to drop it unless your credit is not good. Its basically the interest equivalent in a lease. .00339 is very high and I am sure you can lower this amount- The dealer is probably earning some participation (reserve) on your payment. If you have Tier 1 credit then standard (not special program) money factors should vary from .00220 to .00270 depending on the leasing company (bank).

Yes, I agree- the residual and money factor are totally separate components. At least two dealers have quoted me that money factor (.00339) as the only rate available directly from MB leasing. That was without regard to my credit (which is fine in any case). So the question is are these guys full of crap or is that the money factor that one has to pay for a CLK 430 cab lease?

Any info would be GREATLY appreciated- I am a week away from signing. I am reluctant to go to a third party leasing company as I understand it becomes much more difficult to return the car without penalties. But I would look into one if anybody has a suggestion.

Thanks.

I called my friend at the MBZ dealership- they have a program called Lease Prophet which will pulls the factors from each bank and then you rank them by residual, Service Charge Factor, payment, etc.

Based on the car you mentioned above at 36 months, 12k miles here are two banks' SCFs:

Chase is at .00245 and Mercedes is at .00325- These are based on a Tier 1 credit profile (Fico score over 700). You can ask to go with a different bank but your dealer may be only signed up with MBCC but I don't know one that is not using Chase. My E55 is with Chase- MBCC couldn't come within 150 dollars on my payment.

Hope this helps.

What is the residual percentage at Chase? For the CLK430, MBCC has a residual of 70% and a money factor of .00319(Tier 1). I'm picking up my car tommorrow. I would like to know if you think I can get a better lease price using Chase. Thanks!

Peter my buddy is gone for the day but call your F&I manager at the dealer you are working with and have them check the residuals for you. If they don't use Chase, Ill try tomorrow.

By the way, if the Chase residual is lower then you may break even on your payment with MBCC since Chase's SCF is lower but so is their residual.

Either way I believe the dealer to be making some rate on your SCF- The CLK cab is still a hot ticket.
