I am having problems starting my CLK430 - 1999, I get the key into the ignition but it does not turn.

I tried jumping my battery, thinking it might have been that the battery died or something but its not the case.

Any suggestion on how I could fix this problem?

Clean the IR lenses on the key and in the ignition? Worth a shot.

Used isopropylene alcohol to clean both the key and ignition, but have had no luck, starting the car.

I insert the key and the display reads "TAKE KEY"
