Coming Up on 12 Months & Tele Aid Question

I will have owned my CLK for 12 months at the end of January. Under the warranty it states that a front end alignment and poly V belts (whatever they are) are covered under the 1st 12 months or 12,000 miles. I only have 6,000 miles on my vehicle however felt a front end alignment couldn't hurt so I made an appointment. Does anyone know how the Tele Aid subscription is renewed? I thought I would have rec'd something in the mail by now. Also can anyone explain to me what the "Radio Code Card" is for and under what circumstance would it be used?

Tele Aid

I, too, am coming up on my first anniversary. I never received any communication from Tele Aid, despite the fact that I was supposed to receive something sixty days before my anniversary and then again thirty days before. To renew your Tele Aid call 800-756-9018. Not sure about the radio code card as I have COMAND, but I am guessing that it is the security PIN used to reactivate the radio if it is disconnected or there is a power loss. However, I could be mistaken.

You should have received a letter from MBUSA regarding TeleAid. I had traded my '01 CLK Cab last October (bought it December, 2000) and was told by the dealer that they'd take care of the TeleAid. Long story short, I just got my credit card bill and was surprised to find $240 charge from MBUSA for TeleAid. Called TeleAid and found out that dealer did not notify them of my trade and that if the owner did not notify MBUSA of intent to cancel, credit card would be billed automatically as part of original TeleAid agreement. Good luck!

They told me it automatically renewed

They took my credit card, for any misc. charges on the system now, and said that it would automatically renew in a year unless I told them not to. Although I think the service is half assed, I will keep it for insurance reasons. I seem to get a discount for having it. I dont think the discount is the cost of the service, but it makes the service somewhat more feasable. I think I save about 100 per year on insurance, so the service cost me 140. Its worth that for peace of mind. I also dont have a spare, so I need to keep this service at least for a little while. Im gettin a spare soon.

Thanks for the great information. I better notify TeleAid as the credit card info that I gave them when I signed up has changed. Ms Clk
