Hard to reply

Sorry for being off topic, but does anyone else have problems posting replies, or is it just my crappy dial up connection??

I seem to be getting auto e-mails saying that a reply had been posted to one of my messages, but when I look, there is no reply there.

RP430, I got two e-mails saying you had replied to the 'spy shot' thread, but your post does not show.

I have a cable connection, and it happens sometimes to me.

I also don't understand why we have to drill down an extra level to get to the forum.

But then again, who am I to complain.

I also find it difficult to post the reply, usually getting a very slow response from the server. But I have found that I do not need to wait for the server to respond before I go back to the forum and the post is not lost.

It's a little strange that this server often takes so long to respond in this instance whilst the rest of the website it is pretty quick.

I'm not complaining, though, I find the forums part of the website very entertaining and well designed.

Here are my observations re rapid v slow postings. I have a DSL connection.

1. An initial postings also goes within 10 seconds on the first try.

2. I find that as a rule, that a response to short posts - with 3-5 replies - a reply goes within 10 seconds.

3. Longer posts - with 8-15 replies - sometimes take 3-8 "re-submit reply" tries over a 25 minute period to reply to.

4. I also noted, that the speed in posting replies varies, depending on say of week, holidays and time of day.

In summary: The time it takes to post is unpredictable!

5. Best time - usually - to post is 6 am or 11 pm EST.

PS:
Now it's 12:30 am and I tried 3 times during the last 15 minutes.

It's frustrating! Want to go to bed! :o
