Windows Stuck?
I replaced my battery in my 2000 CLK430 cab recently. I immediately realized my front windows (both of them), once rolled down, would not roll back up. I searched the owners manual to no avail. With no internet acces at the time I began a process of trial and error. Pressing and holding the window switches (as I've read here on MBWorld) in many combinations. Nothing worked.
Well, I found a simple fix that I am sure the stealer would charge $500 for. I remebered that holding the "unlock" button on the remote rolled the windows down so perhaps the opposite would work to override the window switches (and the CPU). Eureka! It worked!
Here is what I did: simply hold down the "lock" button on the remote for several seconds...the windows roll up as they should and are "reset". Now my front windows roll down..AND...gets this... back up. Amazing!
I love this forum because of the many times it has helped me with problems such as this. I'm just giving back here, so I hope this helps one of you.
