Ugh what? Wax protects the clear coat on your car.

yes i know wax does protect paint job i am aware of that. But because it has particles in itself constantly rubbing it does it damage clear maybe. Probably not noticeable after only few waxes but applying it for few years once a week or something hmm that is what i am wondering...

No the scratches are from the mitt you are using for washing and drying. Need to make sure you get good quality stuff not the hard and abrassive cheaper stuff from your local auto store. I also recommend you use whats called the two bucket method where you have one bucket with soap and the other with clean water. So once you get the mitt soapy and wash a certain section then you dip it in the clean water to get the grit off your mitt then dip it back in the soapy bucket and continue. If your car already has light scratching or swirls I recommend you polish them out before you apply the wax its just for protection some may fill the scratch but after it starts to wear off you will see them again because they were never gone.
