yeah, i believe only one 6speed clk in the world, and thats one of the first clk60's from renntech. not worth doing it.

AMG
There was a Renntech CLK60 on ebay for sale a few months back... It only sold for $25k, what a steal (it had manual tranny). With that said, it could probably be done with an M5 Getrag 6speed out of the E39 M5. You would have to probably machine an adapter plate for the bell housing but it would be a great candidate since it can handle extreme torque and they can be had for a relatively low price.

Even an E36 M3 ZF transmission with upgraded flywheel, clutch & pressure plate can easily handle the power (Turbo cars are running the ZF transmissions well up into the 500+HP range) and it has 5 speed ratios that are very well spaced. Also it is much more compact so fitment issues would be alot less. That and you can have M3 transmissions for as low as $500 (some as high as $100). of course at this rate you could just buy an BMW 328 for a few grand (whole car, it shares same transmission as E36 M3) and transplant everything over you need and sell the rest to break even. It may end up costing you nothing for parts.

again, these are just ideas I'm throwing out there.

i was going to buy that CLK off ebay!!!
BUT it could NOT be regestered in california, that was the main reason it was being sold for only 25K!
it was one amazing car
