Just had the comand replaced for the second time(cd not ejecting). When the software was installed a recent upgrade is no longer available. On the new program disc when you type a street name the only letters that are available are those that are possible selections for that town. All other letters are blank. The dealer can't get that feature back even with the same disk. I guess I'm spoilled and I liked that new feature and want it with the new comand unit. Help!!!
Originally posted by Bob R They appear to be programing the comand with my area disk which is the 7/2002 version. That disk seemed to give me the upgrade before but not now.
The 7/2002 disc contains the maps/data. What they need to do is check the version of the software that is in the COMAND units firmware. The latest version is 6.29 . Eairler versions did not contain this feature. If your head unit is a Q10 level revision or later (May not apply to the COMAND 2.0 units, but does to the COAMND 2.5 units), it should accept the 6.29 update that your dealer can load into it's firmware. Your dealer should of received this update CD around July 30, 2001 or so from MBUSA.
PM or email me for more details. I can tell you how to verify your software level version.
