CLK 430
Smile Replace the battery

I have a 2002 CLK430. I was starting to have quirky little problems popping up intermittently in the past 6 months. Among them were ABS, BAS, Electronic Stab Prog malfunction indications, then the driver's seat would not tilt forward to allow passengers to enter the back seat 95% of the time. On a whim, I decided to have the battery tested. The tester indicated the battery needed replacement. Although the battery is not cheap, I replaced it. Since then none of the previous problems I was experiencing have popped up again. After replacing the battery, you will have to reset some computer driven electrical devices such as power windows adjustments, but your owners manual helps with this and it's only a minor inconvenience. Maybe this will help someone else who may be experiencing some annoying electrical indications and save you lots on unnecessary MB repair and labor costs.
