Oil Change Question.

I am due for an oil change and i figured i do it my self instead of paying someone this time. I have a 2000 CLK 430 with 148K miles on it. My question is what kind of oil should i use?

I have a 2001 i use and was recommended to use royal purple its awesome expensive but good 10w40

I thought that Mercedes recomended Mobile 1 0W40. Is that true. How much oil do i need. I heared somewhere 8.5 quords. Is that correct.

Yes mobile 1 is recommended by the book I think royal purple is better and 10w40 because of the high miles its work out for me Ive been using it for a couple years also it is 8.5 Qt pretty expensive but what is not for Mercedes
