Get an OBDII scanner (I believe you can borrow one at AutoZone).
Read codes (Hopefully you've already fixed what was wrong).
Erase codes.
The CEL light should go out on its own after a few drives or even days when the ECU recognizes that there isn't a fault anymore FYI.

I believe you can disconnect the battery for about 30 seconds and it resets also. might wanna search first in case it clears settings

find out what the codes are before u reset it !!!!!! dont drive with the check engine light on for awhile cause then u could always ruin something else and fix the first problem and then have the light off for a few weeks and have it come back on dued to the second problem that u computer didnt get to read......thats what happened with me lol

Agreed. I wasnt very clear in my first response.
Definitely pull codes and fix problem. (possibly intermittent or one time occurance) However, if the ECU has not reset itself on its own then the problem probably still exists. Don't ignore, you'll get the snowball effect and regret it.
