Good afternoon all,
About a half hour ago I was taking my daughter to a birthday party and I got trapped into hitting a pothole (nowhere else to go).
Front passenger side tire took the hit and I heard a squealing sound like lost air pressure. I quickly assumed that pothole + squealing = tire problem so i pull over so that i can evaluate, only to find that nothing is wrong with any tires or wheels.
when i jump back in the car i notice that the ac isn't working anymore (feels like 85 in chicago today).....the console is lit up and i can turn the air or heat from one bar to six bars, it "looks" normal....and no warnings show up on the dash. But there is definately no air coming out.
i guess in hindsight, the noise i heard was from in the cabin as the ac shut down but i'm concerned because i can't figure out how i go from a bad pothole to losing my air.
i figured maybe the jolt knocked something loose, like a pipe that the air travels through to get to the cabin, but that doesn't take into account the squealing noise.
i guess i'd just like to hear anyone elses opinion on this, maybe some advice on where to start checking things.....like first, where can i find the fan blower motor?
what a bummer on a hot sunday

man, was i bummed last night.
i kept driving an hour after i posted and all off a sudden, after a weird squealing noise agian, my air started back up.....only thhis time, it won't turn off.
the center console controls do nothing, the air is the same force and temp no matter what setting it's at.
even when the car is turned off, the air still blows, i had to pull the blower motor fuse
bad start to the week, for sure

HEY,APPARENTLY I HAVE KIND OF THE SAME SITUATION. I HAD TO DISCONNECT THE BLOWER FUSE IN ORDER FOR THE CAR BATTERY NOT TO DIE ON ME. I TRIED TURNING OFF THE A/C BUT THE CONSOLE BUTTONS WERE NOT WORKING. ONLY SOLUTION WAS TO TAKE FUSE (25) OUT.WHAT WAS THE REASON AND WHAT DID U DO TO RECTIFY THIS...ANY COMMENTS WOULD HELP THNX.....
