2000 CLK 430
Any ideas ?

Hey there all.
First I'd like to thank you guys for helping me figure out what was going on with my wife's car. I found this site and started reading all the posts and their cures. It turned out to be the CPS problem that everyone seems to have. I replaced it and now she's a happy lady (well happier anyway!!) I'm sure that would have been a chunk of change to have fixed at the dealer ! After doing more reading I have also now bought a new airbox from a 55 and am looking forward to it's arrival. I had no idea that people cared about these cars so much.

I now have another question for all you experts. When you lock or unlock is it supposed to chirp ? Her's doesn't. The lights falsh but no sound. I tried the panic button on the remote and it screams, but no arm/disarm chirp.
Any ideas ?

My E chirps for arms and disarm. My CLK never did just lights flash. I don't think its supposed to chirp.

Are the CLK's known for eating bulbs? I have to replace one every couple of months it seems.
Headlights and other bulbs as well.

No chirp on our models, and check your headlight wiring, or the fusees, something is wrong...
