'00 CLK cabriolet
w208 CLK Cab Roll bar & Soft top stuck-HELP

Hi folks,

The rollbar of my '00 CLK cabriolet won't come up and the soft top won't come up either.

I tried resetting the rollbar by pushing the rollbar button UP for 20+ seconds, and even tried pushing it down for another 20+ seconds... doesn't work.

I'm making an assumption that the soft top won't come up because the rollbar isn't working, but it's a very "uneducated assumption"...

CAN ANYONE OFFER SOME HELP OR IDEAS? I have to park it outside on the street tonight, and having the "top down" isn't the safest way for my car to be!

Thanks in advance for your help...

aloha, barbie

There is a procedure in the manual for putting the top up manually. It requires a tool from your kit. Otherwise search around there are plenty of posts about top problems. I ended up going to the dealer, $120 diag which turned in to $700 for parts and $250 for labor. I guess you have to pay for that silver star.
