Just replaced my stock 95k mile shocks with bilstein HD. WOW! What a difference! Very easy to replace. The front shocks were easier to do than the rear. But overall its very easy to replace and anyone can do it. Highly recommend it.
First, lift the car off the ground.
The front you dont need to take any extra parts off (except for the tires). Just unscrew the bottom bolt of the shock and the top nut. Comes right out.
For the rear, (take tires off) the lower control arm is protected by a plastic piece which is held on by (2) 10mm screws. Take that plastic piece out and then you will have access to the bottom shock bolt. The top bolt was the only tricky part. Its loacted in the trunk area. You will need to take the side fabric out of the trunk to access the top shock nut. Once you do that, the shock will come out but you will need to compress it down for clearance. I compressed the shock by holding it and pulling it down
So its easy.
I reused the original top nuts instead of the nuts that came with the new shock.
For the bottom bolt, i used the new bolts that came with the shock.
i bought the shocks from partsgeek.com Cost $265 shipped for all 4. Came in 2 days as promissed.
