CLK-Class (W208) 1998-2002: CLK 200, CLK 230K, CLK 320, CLK 430 [Coupes & Cabriolets]

Changed motor and tranny mounts and also cleaned MAF. Still have engine "stumble"

Changed motor and tranny mounts and also cleaned MAF. Still have engine "stumble"

Seems like at idle my engine tends to do a slight "stumble" Its not a constant vibration that i was feeling before i changed the motor/tranny mounts. This is def. the motor doing some sort of "hick up" Happnes only when im idling in either Drive or Park. Is my MAF bad? I cleaned it out but made no difference. I also have new spark plugs, mobil 1 motor oil, new airfilter, so its been maintained.

Do you change your wires? That would do that, how old are the ones on the car?

Engine stumble

Did you install the mounts yourself or if you had them installed how much did they charge for the labor. I bought the mounts and was going to do the job myself but if the price is right I have somebody else do it.

Where did u buy the mounts?

You need to check to see if you have any OBDII fault codes (most auto supply places will do this for free) and go from there.

If it's the MAF, sometimes cleaning resolves the problem and sometimes the unit needs to be replaced.

Overall im very happy with the mounts! They helped out alot but i still have this engine "stumble" once in a while when i come to a stop. Has nothing to do with the mounts.

If i have any codes, wouldnt the check engine light/malfunction come on the dashboard?
