Fog lights are well knowned for the wiring (melting) problems. Check the wiring, if it bad, you can DIY with regular automobile electric wires. I heard that MB dealer had the retrofit fog light wiring (for W208 & W210), I did it without a problem (my right side fog light come ON & OFF intermėttent), when I check the light, the - (negative) wire melted, there is minimum contact, I just cut out some grey wire I had, replaced the bad wire. Voila, no more problems. Do a search (how to open the fog light) in advance, so you do not break the lens while doing the wiring. Good luck.
