Change your sparkplug wires! It cut all my hesitation at idle problem. My car idles perfect now, as if it was new. I guess the wires dont last that long. Mine were out by 96k miles.

Yes, it was fairly easy. I had to take out some of the coils (the black color boxes on top of the valve cover) to get to the wires easier.

Ohm readings

If you still have the old wires, I'd love to hear what the resistance readings are for the old wires (ohms). I'm just wondering if it's a gradual degradation for all the wires or if it was only one or two wires that were causing the problem. I'm in the same boat as you and was wondering about a full replacement, but it's a bit expensive, so I'm trying to use my brain here and use an ohm meter to make an educated decision. Thanks in advance.... Paul

I did not bother with reading the amount of ohms the old wires had. I dont have a tester or anything but even if one of the wires was bad, it would make sense to replace them all. Do you replace 1 warn out tire or all 4 at the sametime? BTW I paid $160 for the entire set from Importec Dallas, TX. It came the next day. So it wasnt too expensive compared to the stealers, oops i mean dealers.

I changed mine last year to the Magnecor 8.0 mm wires and NGK irriduim plugs. It made a big difference in engine response and made it run smoother. I believe Magnecor posts there resistance numbers on their website.
