anyone using different size pads for the front as opposed to the back?

Does anyone have different size front spring pads as oppossed to the rear. like a #1 Front and #3 rear or something like that? Im trying to even out the lowering between the front and the back and wanted to know if it was safe to just change the pads in the front. If anyone has done this and has had no problems please let me know. And did it change your ride in a worse way dramatically or no? and do you know what size pads are on a clk 320 stock?

I believe Ben (Mach430) has different pads in the front and rear. If I remember correctly, it is #2 in front, #1 in back.

I also recall someone else having a CLK55 that has the same setup of using #2 pads in front, and #1 pads in back.

Bruce- you have #1 pads front and back, correct? How would you rate the ride? (Deluxe/Good/Fair/Firm/Rough/Harsh)

Thanks!

Danny

I have a 430 and a friend of mine changed my pads. My fronts are 1pt (5mm) and rears are 3pt (12mm).

Fender gap is even between front and rear with stock suspension.

No adverse effect on ride/handling.

So if I go from a 21mm pad to a 5mm pad, Im technically only get have a 16mm drop? That wont really be a noticeable difference right? Im looking for like another 1/2" to 3/4"in drop. and dropping 16mm is only like 1 1/2cm correct?

My front pads were 4pt from factory, which were 17mm pads, I believe. Switching from 17mm to 5mm gave me a slight amount of ride height change. I think it was less than 1/2" of a drop.
