BLUETOOTH QUESTION

A FRIEND OF MINE HAS 2002 CLK CABRIO THAT HE JUST BOUGHT WITH THE FACTORY NAVI AND IS LOOKING FOR A BLUETOOTH INTERGRADE...IS IT WORTH IT COST WISE OR SHOULD HE REPLACE THE HEAD UNIT WITH AN AFTERMARKET NAVI STYLE UNIT WITH BLUETOOTH CAPABILITIES?

Well I will try and answer this question in the easiest way possible:

1. Factory nav unit upgraded to bluetooth will be EXPENSIVE 600 or more but it will keep the factory look and steering wheel buttons will work perfectly.

2. An upgraded dash unit w/ bluetooth and Nav will be around 900 or more but will be much faster, better options, IPOD connection and can possibly be made to work with the steering wheel with an extra adapter. But..you will lose that factory look.

So all in all it is up to him and what is more important in the end.

Does he have the integrated Motorola V60 phone? Does he have COMAND? If he doesn't have either one of those, go aftermarket. If he does, fit the bluetooth puck system on. I have it, it is completely factory and it works great.

Greg, factory nav has little to do with bluetooth. The operative issues are the V60 phone and COMAND. The factory nav or regular tape/bose system will support the puck regardless.
