Valvoline Maxlife ATF: VERIFIED as alternative Trans Fluid for 722.623.
Verify correct alternative Trans Fluid for 722.623 trans ???
Instead of watching a Superbowl composed of two "all pass, all the time" teams score ten TDs, I think I'd rather change out the ATF in my Trans. and converter. So, I need to buy 15 quarts of fluid.
Is this the correct alternative fluid as per the service bulletin ?
I have posted an image of the MB bulletin, and below it I have included the alternate fluid that I think the bulletin refers to.
Thanks

WOW! I would like to know as well, I have spent a fortune on 2 trans fluid changes already and a 3rd will be in 9K miles when I hit 150,000 miles.
This will save me some cash for some Bud Light Limes!!

I'm just looking for a little tiny bit of additional verification, because I searched the Valvoline website, and this is the only Maxlife ATF they make, and the MB bulletin makes a direct and specific reference to it, so it seems a sure thing.
I found this bulletin in more than one place on these forums, and a knowledgeable forum contributor stated the obvious, which always seems to elude us, that, MB does not refine oil--MB takes someones oil and puts it in a MB branded bottle, and sells it at MB prices ($15), and it makes sense that there is more than one MB approved alternative ATF out there. There's also a Shell product listed on the MB bulletin.
Here's a link to the Valvoline site.

Valvoline Maxlife is $4.86 at Autozone, but the price at Walmart is almost embarrassing, so, here's a photo of what it looks like on a Walmart shelf.

Well, found a compatibility letter from Thom Smith, Technical Director, Valvoline Brand, wherein this gentleman states that Valvoline Maxlife ATF complies with "Mercedes Benz Sheet 236.x (except 236.12 and 236.20)" which means that it is compatible with MB Specification Sheet 236.10, which makes it compatible with the 722.6XX transmission, and my Trans is a 722.623, so, I'M COOOOOOL, DUDE.
Tomorrow, I'm buying 15 red bottles at Walmart for $55.05, instead of 15 silver bottles at the dealership for $225.00.
Have uploaded a copy of a posting from another MB forum where the 236.10 spec sheet is explained, and also a pdf of the Valvoline compatibility letter.
