Yes I have the Carsoft 7.4 Mulitiplexer and have had no problems with it and it is a great diagnostic tool. It came in extreemly useful when I was troubleshooting my transmission issue last year.
Since it is a knock off, you do need to follow the installation instructions to the tee also you will need a legacy laptop/desktop with a RS232 port. the dongle usb to serial will not work with the multiplexer. (some kind of comm issue maybe baud rate issue?)

Yes it is and I have literally saved thousands of dollars using this multiplexer. I've use it on all my Mercedes and also my Dad's 89' 420SEL & 87' 380SL.
