do koni shocks have rivets for adjusting height when installed? and are they adjustable for stiffness externally or are they set at a certain level when installed

Hey guys, I also have an eibach spring but I havent bought the shock. Many people recommended me to go with Koni with Eibach. Since the Konis are adjustable, which setting should I go with. Are the settings (firm or soft) really affects handling such as body lean?

hinhin do you have 18s or 19s? and 320 or 430? cos I was not happy with eibachs on 320 w/18's. I was left with way bigger gaps on front as opposed to rear. now i have to change the front pads to a #1 pad to even out the look of my car. I still have 2.5finger gap front and almost tucked in back. i heard eibach only test fitted for V8's(430&clk55) so the drop was more even for those cars. i guess thats why the H&R specs show that their spring lowers the front more than the rear.

david, Im still having the stock 17's on my car...but pretty soon, i will put on my 19" wheels. My car is a 430.
David, did it take the same amount of time to install spring as supposed to change the pads number?
Thanks

I have H&R springs with Koni sport adjustable shocks. When I installed the Koni's I put them in the +2 setting, they come soft + 3 settings. I had to return to soft because the ride was to harsh.

I heard that some people say if you get H&R usually you get Bilstein shocks, which is a stiff shock. Is that right?
Does the setting in shock really affect your performance (like body roll)?
Thanks

Like I said I have Koni sport shocks, and for me the +2 setting was too harsh, so I wen't back to soft, which is still stiffer than stock and gives me a performance ride.
The shocks for the CLK are 26 series, so they have soft + 2 settings not 3. The Bilsteins are not adjustable, so if you don't like them, you are stuck with them.
H&R with Koni's for 1.5" drop or H&R cup kit for 2" drop is the best choice in my opinion, of course if you are willing to spend more money, you can go with the Kleeman sensitive suspension kit, which I don't how much is it.

Thanks Theine.
With the Kleeman sensitive suspension, is it any better than regular coil over or the cup kit?

Theine: I just had Koni's installed and the instructions show that the settings vary in a 0, 1, or 2. I didnt see a +2 or +3. I put mine on 1 but i want to go softer so does that mean i should go to a 2 or 0?

Theine: where did you get your shocks from? I just asked my buddy to get me the shocks but I think they are pretty darn expensive. $130 F and $150R. Is the price reasonable?

hinhin: it takes just about the same labor to change the pads as opposed to the springs. considering you will have to remove the springs to change the pads. if you take it to a shop they will charge you roughly the same rate. as for the koni shocks are your prices for each front$130 and each rear$150? www.tirerack.com has them for $400 a set.

If the prices are around 300 to 400 and the item is the same (Koni sport shock), maybe I should go with Tirerack, so we have a long lasting forum. :-)
Thanks guys for all your helps.

Koni's or Bilstien? Which combo will achieve great performance without sacrificing ride? H&R Bilstien or H&R Koni? I know ride will suffer, and that is why I like the idea behind the Koni adjustables. Also, which setting would achieve what I am asking?
