What's the difference between 1998 CLK230 kompressor and 2000 CLK200 Kompressor in terms of horsepower and performance? Which one is the better buy? According to wikipedia the difference is not much?

06/1997 - 06/2000 clk200 kompressor has 141kw (192hp)
06/2000 - 06/2002 clk200 kompressor has 120kw (163hp)

06/1997 - 06/2000 clk230 kompressor has 142kw (193hp)
06/2000 - 06/2002 clk230 kompressor has 145kw (197hp)

i would choose 2000 clk200 kompressor, because the difference is small and it has multifunction steering wheel and better looks. As we know the change in appearance happened in ca. 06/1999. But if i had to choose between the 2000 clk230 kompressor and 2000 clk200 kompressor, i would pick clk230 (the bigger the better).

I have driven both, and despite being only 0.3l smaller with the CLK 2000 there is a noticable difference. I settled on the CLK 230K facelift model as fuel in the uk is very dear about $9 US a gallon, I am very happy with it and the MPG is ok, in fact the MPG is better I think then the CLK 2000 .

Do you mean the older clk200 kompressor has a bigger horsepower? At the moment my choice is between 1998 clk230 kompressor and 2000 clk200 kompressor. Do you think I should go with the 2000 clk200 kompressor??

Thatīs what i read from another site http://www.detali.ru/webCat2.aspx?MID=QZX&RID=ULU and i saw same info on cars that are beeing sold on German car selling site. The clk200 kompressor starting from june 2000 has less power than itīs older version.

The 1998 clk230 kompressor has 193 hp, so the 2000 year clk200 kompressor hp depends on wich month it was built...

If the clk is newer than june 1999 than itīs better looking in stock. So you have do decide between appearance and engine
