I recently purchased a CLK 430, year 2000. The car has 123500 miles on it and drives ok. i've been driving now for about a month, when the car died on me while parking it. It started up after the 3rd try. When i came out an hour later it took about 7 trys to start, it sounded like no fire, just turning over,not running hot, no indication lights at all. The dash indicator does say service B overdue 7000 mi, what is a service B

Well it was like that when i bought it,but didn't notice it till a few days later. In fact the only thing that showed up on the display was 1 malfunction, wiper fluid. I filled it and it went away, then this popped up a few days after.

Either the dealer forgot to reset the servicing interval (which is what I hope it is) or it really is past 7k miles for the servicing.
I'd take it to the dealer to clarify and reset the computer if need be.

Check out "Signal to Noise" by MarcusF. He's got a lot of info set up for us! Look under "Flexible Service System" for the list for A&B services.Changing out the Crankshaft Position Sensor(CPS) is here also.
