clk 320 1999
Transmission
Have a 99,CLK 320 with 42,000 miles. Have been hearing a kind of thump at times when driving at slow speeds such as in a parking lot or in slow traffic.Seems like the car downshifts hard by itself. Almost feels like someone has bumped me from behind. I took it into the dealer yesterday ,and just got a call from my service rep. She said the technician was able to duplicate the condition and they are replacing the transmission under warrenty. Just curious if anyone else has had this problem?

Mine does the same thing and mine have only 13K mile on it...more
Dealer says it is adpative Transmission, so because of the way I drive, it downshifts hard when slowing down or come to stop at the red light.
They re-programmed the Transmission, seems to be OK for now. I think it will come back shortly.
