Paul, My CLK 430 is awesome on the track, smoke all kinds of cars.
Hinhin7 , I run either Hoosiers or G-Force DOT tires. They can be run on the streets but NOT when it's wet.
Howard
Picture on the left is actually on the track in the rain!

race tires
Tire rack sells Hoosiers. Make sure they are the road race tires not the autocross tires. They will take a lap or two to get up to running temps so take it easy until they are warm.

Do you know any Hoosiers model that is racing tires? I checked tirerack earlier and there are 4 choices of them.
How long does the racing tire last, can you get like 2000 miles on them? and do you drive from your house to the track with the racing tires?
The price for the racing tires is not so bad, considering the road tires for stock 17" is aroung 150 each, the racing tires is $200 each
Thanks,

tires
Howard, I have a dumb question. It is just my curiosity that I want to know why would you need to warm up racing tires to the certain temperature so that you could get the best traction? ANy chemistry or physics involved? :-)
Racing tires don't work very well until warm...in fact all tires are slick until they are warm.

I don't know the model off hand but just ask for road race Hoosiers.

Yes, they can last that long if you don't abuse them. Correct air pressures, letting them warm up and cool down etc. You can drive to the track on them but remember they are basically slicks with hardly any treads so if it rains you are screwed.

Yep
Howard
Thanks,
Solihin
