Thanks for any input!

I'm having a problem with my passenger side window. When I auto up the window it cracks back open about 2 inches. It just won't shut completely unless I use the manual up.. Is there a way to reset it? or do I have to go to the dealer...

All you have to do is manually lower the window, with the switch, until it's fully open, then immediately push the switch as far down as it'll go and keep it depressed for ~5-10 seconds. Next, raise the window manually again, until the window is fully closed. Now, push the switchall the way forward and keep it there for the 5-10 seconds, similar to above.
This worked on my CLK after having the same problem as you. Although, not always on the first try (2 or 3). Ultimately, you'll probably end up having to have the regulator changed out, like MBTech said.
Good luck

Tried Joe55's solution but it doesn't seem to work for me. **Sigh**.Got to find some time to take it to dealer.

Can you make a 99 clk have the auto up feature?

Then, try it again.
If this dosen't work, then your window regulator is totally shot and will have to be replaced anyway. There's no harm in trying this and you'll even get a chance to reset any sluggishness that your car may have learned according to your previous driving habits. But, follow your instruction manual to the tee.
Good Luck,

I've replaced some window regulators on other cars, and there are two kinds. One is just the regulator (cable, mechanical), the other is regulator with motor. never seen one with a sensor on it.
now I do know on the BMW 3-series, 2-door, there is also a sensor which rolls the window down a bit and up while opening and closing the door. that sometimes does go bad. I did notice the CLK has this function too. so if that's the case, then isn't the sensor the only thing needing to be replaced, or it ALL together, eventhough the regulator and motor are working just perfect?
