Federal is one of those bargain performance brands... kind of like nankang... i rate them at the same level as Kumho tires... stick with the Toyo T1-S.. they are sweet tires, and look aggressive!!!

For all out performance, the S03 can't be beat. However, for everyday driving, I prefer the Pilot Sports. If you are on a budget, stick to a big brand name tire manufacturer like Goodyear that spends a ton of money on tire research. At least you will know that the tires you buy were designed for a passenger car. I'm not knocking Federal but as I understand it, they specialize in industrial rubber products and truck tires.

My $.02

So $300 more to get T1-S is worth it?

I used to work in the farming/trucking industry. Due to the seasonal nature of the business and the short distances from farm to processing plant, our biggest tire concern was theft, sun damage and rot. Therefore we would buy the least expensive tires we could find. Federal was usually the winner!

tires

Toyos are not bad but the pilots or SO3's are better. Toyos are softer and the handling won't be as good but still a good tire. I've run all 3 and the SO3's are tops IMO
